MEET NATE & BAILEY
Two delightful English Toy Spaniels
Nate and Bailey are English Toy Spaniels.
And they are "Prince Charles" in color.
What?
In the English Toy Spaniel breed, the beautiful black, white and tan color pattern (known as tricolor in other breeds) is called, PRINCE CHARLES.
Any guesses as to what the black and mahogany tan coloring is called? (think markings like a rottweiler) KING CHARLES!
Okay, one more bit of trivia for this breed: What do you call English Toy Spaniels?
CHARLIES!
And want to add a little confusion to the mix? They are called King Charles Spaniels in the United Kingdom BUT they are not to be confused with the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, or Cavis, which are popular in the USA.
So, this rare breed, the English Toy Spaniel, was was bred to be the companion of kings and through the centuries has maintained a bright, affectionate and willing to please personality.
Bailey and Nate definitely fit their breed description and were delightful at their park session this spring.
