Meet Rescued Sweetheart, Delphi
Delphi came into her pawrents lives as a stray. Michelle relates that she found her sleeping under their car in the driveway. "We walked the neighborhood, posted her online, made signs, and did the stray hold only to have no one claim her. We decided to adopt her after noticing she fit in perfectly."
Then, at Delphi's vet appointment, imagine Michelle's surprise (and everyone else's) when they found a chip!
The vet clinic immediately held Delphi and tracked down her owner, who said she would pick up Delphi.
Michelle relates that she said, I'll wait. "I sat at the vet clinic for 12 hours, waiting."
The owner never showed up. in fact, it appeared that upon learning that Delphi was heartworm positive, the original owner blocked the vet clinic's number.
So, Delphi was released to Michelle and has been the pawfect family dog for five years.
"Delphi is hilarious," says Michelle. "She just brings a joy with her smile and silliness, not to mention her surgical precision with destroying toys in seconds. I mean, she goes for the seams every time!"
The greatest challenges Michelle has had with Delphi was initially keeping her calm during her heartworm treatment. "She's a very happy dog and gets excited for most things, especially meeting new people."
Fortunately sailed through her treatment and has been heartworm free since 2019.
