a/k/a "Gibbs"
If you said, "WOW," when you saw the image of Gibbs above, you are in good company.
A lot of judges from the American Kennel Club (AKC) thought so, too!
Gibbs is a stunning Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (CKCS) and he is a "grand champion," which basically means he's won a lot in the show ring.
First Gibbs had to become a champion -- to do this he was awarded 15 points from winning Winners Dog at dog shows, with at least six of those points coming from "major" wins (major wins are 3,4 or 5 points each). So, for example, in Florida, to earn a three point major, Gibbs would have to have been in a show with at least 11 male CKCS entered in it AND beat them all.
Once he achieved his AKC Championship, he continued to show and from the Best of Breed class (all champions and the Winners Dog and Winners Bitch). After obtaining a total of 25 points with three major wins, he was awarded the title of Grand Champion,
But don't worry, Gibbs hasn't let this all go to his head. His pawrents, Skip and John W. say he is pretty much the same cute, playful guy he's always been.
And, maybe, he is a little demanding at times (he likes to keep his pawrents on a schedule) but can't we give the handsome fellow a little slack?
Gibb's pawrents selected an 11x14" BEST IN SHOW canvas and upgraded to a gold leaf frame. If you think it looks beautiful here, you should see this showstopper in person!
