Joan H Walker, M.Photog.Cr., CPP, FP, F.Ph., Earns Highest Membership Level from Professional Photographers of America
Joan H Walker, M.Photog.Cr., CPP, FP, F.Ph. of Joan H Walker PAWtography in Jacksonville, Florida has been named a recipient of an Elite Plus Membership from Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Walker is one of a very few to earn the prestigious Elite Plus membership – yet another milestone in her illustrious career behind the camera.
“We are encouraging photographers to be more and to grow sustainable businesses,” said Kristen Morgan, Director of Member Value and Experience for PPA. “Ms. Walker continues to raise the bar in our industry and has certainly earned her place among the elite.”
Walker qualified for Elite Plus membership through continued education, image competition and an on-going quest for excellence. She was an Elite member, also a great honor, in 2019 and 2020.
“My journey in photography and digital art has been a quest for excellence,” relates Walker. “I began competing eight years ago to better my craft. I’m not the person who settles for where they are at the moment, but I continually strive to be the best. And I do this all to give my pet-owning clients the most amazing imagery I can possibly produce.” Walker adds, “If you don’t challenge yourself, you can’t grow. I’m so happy to have found PPA with its nearly limitless opportunities to learn, grow and teach.” Walker was elected in 2021 to represent professional photographers in Florida as a PPA state councilor. She also regularly teaches through PPA’s spring and fall workshop series.
The Elite Pro membership level comes with special benefits and perks, including significant savings, reserved only for those PPA members awarded the Elite Pro honor.
The status is awarded on an annual basis and is good for one calendar year. Walker says she is most excited about – if you couldn’t guess already – the opportunity for free all-day classes and hands-on workshops at PPA’s annual convention, Imaging USA, to be held in January 2022. “Some of the top photography instructors in the world teach at this convention each year and we’re finally – fingers crossed – able to learn in person next year.”
