We are thrilled to announce that our image of Noelle, one of our cherished Havanese, has been featured in the November 2024 issue of Professional Photographer Magazine in a full-page ad for PPA’s pet photography resources! This magazine has an international reach with over 30,000 readers, and we’re honored to see our work represented on such a prestigious platform.
The Story Behind the Image
Creating this image was a true team effort! Joan photographed the image, designed and hot-glued each candy heart onto a foam board, and used Photoshop to craft custom heart sayings, all with a dog’s love in mind. Each phrase was chosen to reflect the sweet, playful language we use with our beloved dogs, adding a unique and personal touch to every heart.
But capturing Noelle’s perfect pose wasn’t as simple as it may look. That’s where Randy’s expert dog-handling skills came in! Convincing a Havanese to poke her nose through a board filled with hot-glued candy hearts was no small feat, requiring patience, skill, and a few high-value treats. Together, they managed to capture Noelle’s curious and adorable expression, creating the illusion of her nestled in a sea of love.
See How It Was Made
For a behind-the-scenes look at how this image (and a companion shot with Choco) came to life, check out our blog post: The Candy Heart Project. This project was as challenging as it was rewarding, and we’re so excited to share it with our community.
We are proud to celebrate this achievement with our clients and fellow dog lovers. Being published in Professional Photographer Magazine is a huge honor, and it fuels our passion for creating exceptional, custom dog portraits.
