This handsome fellow had a rough beginning.

"Lucas is a rescue who has been through so much difficulty in his life," relates his pawrent, Rachelle L.

Rachelle explains that Lucas was originally living in Mexico when a rescue in San Diego, California literally came to the rescue and removed him from his abhorrent living conditions. Rachelle and her husband, Cris, were living in San Diego at the time, and just couldn't resist Lucas. 

The young couple adopted him and brought him with them to Jacksonville, Florida.

Though Lucas had been through a lot in just a short period of time (and the only life he'd known until his adoption), in true dog fashion, Lucas found love to be a great healer and, as Rachelle notes, "has come a long way!"
